The Fuente Old Guard Golf Society game for November was cancelled due to the coronavirus travel restrictions, so it gives me the chance to mention the winners of our Annual Awards Competitions.
First up is the Most Improved Player Award which went to Christine Marshall, who has reduced her handicap from 28 to 25 through her playing efforts.
Overall Order Of Merit was awarded to Richard Dixon, playing in Division Two, for the best 6 Stapleford scores registered throughout the year. In Division One the award went to Gerry McRobert and in Division Three, Peter Kirke, our Captain for 2021, recorded the best 6 in that division.
The Captain’s Award this year went to Ken Blakeman who played in every game, scored the most Stapleford points and won the Matchplay Singles Competition. Ken is also our Vice Captain for 2021. Runner-up in the Matchplay Singles was Malcolm Archibald.
One other presentation that has been made was a 50€ donation to the Costa Cálida Chronicle Poppy Appeal on behalf of the FOGGS membership.
