December was a busy month for the Old Guard starting with our annual tussle with Los Reyes G/S on the 14th. The game was held at La Torre Golf Resort and the result was the same as last year with a narrow win for the Los Reyes team.
Later in the month on the 28th was our Texas scramble event which was held at Lorca Golf Resort and that was won by a team led by Martin Hill with Mark Palmer, Karen Jones and Clive Hathaway making up the Fab Four.
In second place, our captain, Ken Blakeman with Malcolm Archibald, Gavin Elbourne and Roger Olorenshaw were unlucky not to take top prize but were able to keep ahead of the third-place team of Derek Hayward, Phil Atkinson, Dave Gray and Graham Tarberry.
Nearest the pin were Martin Hill, Mike Anker, Darren Morritt, Dave Gautier and Dave Mitchell with no twos money pot this month. Our next game is on February 24th and should anyone wish to know more about FOGGS please contact us by email at
