September is here, the crowds have gone and the heat has abated. We can only hope that the holiday abandonment of animals will disappear too, or at least lessen. As usual we have numerous dogs and cats under our wing looking for homes and as ever we need to raise funds to care for them. We have a variety of fund raising events this month and we hope that you will be able to support us.
Thursday 1st September

If you’ve picked up this copy of the Costa Cálida Chronicle early enough, you can get yourselves round to Rendezvous on Camposol A where we will be having one of our popular Pop-Up Mini Markets. Have breakfast whilst rummaging through our fabulous bargains.
Friday 9th September
If you like cake and savouries, (well who doesn’t?), Nicky will be running her eagerly anticipated Cake and Pastry Stall at Just Joe’s hair and beauty salon from 10am-1pm. I’m sure as usual she will take orders in advance, so get them in to avoid disappointment. I’m salivating already!
Wednesday 14th September
For those eggheads amongst us we have a fun FMA end of Summer Quiz at Buenavista – 7pm start. Teams with a maximum of eight people must be booked in advance.
More information about the above can be found on the attached posters. These are the fund raisers happening for September at the time of writing. For information on more events please follow our Facebook page.
To finish, I would like to bring up a sensitive topic that understandably people don’t like to talk about. Unfortunately we often have to take in animals from people who have become too ill to care for them or who have passed away. The unexpected can always happen and people often forget to make provision for their pets in their wills. Unfortunately we have found that families cannot always be relied upon. Please take time to look into ways that ensure your pets are cared for should anything unexpected happen and provide yourself with peace of mind.
As usual we would like to thank all our supporters, volunteers and especially our fosterers who came up trumps last month. It is really true that Fostering Saves Lives and the more foster parents we have the more dogs and cats we can help. Please contact us if you would like to help in this way. You can choose the length of time and you will be supported by us at all times. Please contact the team at FMA for more information.
