Forget Me Not will continue to meet at the Social Centre, Camposol B every Monday morning from 10.30am-1.30pm. Our aim is to offer free respite care for carers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s/Dementia, or any other long term illness. Why not pop along and meet us on any Monday morning for a cup of tea and an informal chat? We will be happy to welcome you.
We encourage carers to enjoy some time to their selves knowing that the person that they care for is in capable and qualified hands. Our service is free thanks to the generosity of many local individuals and groups that have donated and raised funds for Forget Me Not over the years. I would like to take this opportunity to give our thanks to each and every one of you.
On Saturday 30th March, Camposol Club De Golf held their first Charity Golf Day in aid of Forget Me Not. The day was well attended with 88 players participating in challenging weather conditions!
There were 18 sponsors who kindly donated €50 each hole: The Club House Bar & Bistro, Amber Pools & Construction, To Buy to Sell to Rent, Quality Indian Restaurant, The Diner, HR Insure, Bar Salud/ Salud Golf Society, The Black Bull, Quick Save, Just Fabulous, The Beauty Palace, Sprightly Crew, Sabores del Sur, PJ’Z, IBEX Insurance, The Thursday Friendly Golf Society, The Salon /The Salon 2, Alley Palais and The Vista Bar.
Many thanks to all of our sponsors and all the players (who donated to play) for making the day possible. The organisation of the event was brilliant and we thank all those who worked hard on the day, both before the event and behind the scenes. It was an incredible day with lots of raffle prizes and donations at an amazing venue. Special thanks go to Alan, Mark, Colin, Stewart and Susan for lots of organisation and preparation to make the day so special and to raise a huge €1,500.
Adrian Turner (18) and Dave Crossland (14) combined to win this much coveted trophy in a strong field of 88, playing 2 Ball Texas Scramble. Their net 58 provided just enough to prevail in the difficult conditions.
Part of our fundraising is our popular Jumble Sales which take place on the first Saturday of each month at Camposol Social Centre. The next sale will be on Saturday 4th May from 10.15am-12.30pm. Come along and grab a bargain!
