Forget Me Not meets every Monday morning from 10.30am-1.30pm at the Social Centre, Camposol B. They aim to offer free respite care for carers of people with Alzheimer’s/Dementia, or any other long term illness. Why not pop along and meet the team on any Monday morning for a cup of tea and an informal chat? They will be happy to welcome you.
Forget Me Not encourages Carers to enjoy some time for themselves, knowing that the person that they care for is in capable and qualified hands. Their service is free thanks to the generosity of local individuals and groups who have donated and raised funds for Forget Me Not over the years. Thank you everyone who has donated in any way to this small but essential group.
We enjoyed some brilliant entertainment on the run up to Christmas. The Sing Along Group and the Ukulele Players entertained us once again. Both groups are favourites of our clients and they always make our mornings special. We also enjoyed a tasty pre-Christmas meal at the Golf Club restaurant. Thank you to the staff for making the occasion memorable. A special thanks goes to all the volunteers that have not only organised the Christmas meal, but have worked happily throughout the year. Without our volunteers we wouldn’t be able to offer our much-needed service.
Our Jumble Sales will carry on taking place on the first Saturday of each month with the next one being held on Saturday 1st February (no sale in January) at the Social Centre, Camposol B from 10.15am-12.30. We look forward to seeing you grab yourself a bargain.
As our client numbers are always growing, we are in need of more volunteers. No experience is necessary; just an understanding of dementia, empathy and a smile. We have fully qualified nurses to chat to you and give you support.
