Forget Me Not Camposol are glad to have been able to re-open their weekly meetings and are ready to meet clients new and old.
Meetings continue at the Social Centre, Camposol B every Monday 10.30am-1.30pm. Every week there are two trained nurses and a number of trained carers within the group and lunch is provided free of charge to clients.
Looking forward, we know that there are a lot of people locally that need the help of a local dementia/carers group. Forget Me Not offers free respite care for carers of people with dementia/memory loss or any other long term illness.
Our aim within the group is to give much-needed respite to the carers.
Most of Forget Me Not have experienced first-hand the challenges of being a carer. They also realise that it is not always easy to relinquish the care of a loved one into the care of strangers. With this in mind they suggest that if you decide to bring your loved one along to a meeting, you have the decision to stay and enjoy the morning. You will be made very welcome and you can converse with others who are in a similar position. You can decide over a period of time if you feel this is right for you and the person you are caring for.
Every week during informal sessions Forget Me Not stimulates their clients with music, gentle seated exercise and many craft-related activities. In October we enjoyed a Halloween celebration with a delicious buffet supplied by Jane and Paul from Alley Palais Entertainment Centre. Thank you! It was enjoyed by all.
Forget Me Not is in the process of organising the next few months’ activities. There will be a Christmas Meal at the Golf Club to look to forward to and of course many pre-Christmas activities.

As you know music is an amazing link to opening memories of people with any sort of memory loss. If you are an individual or a group that feel you could come along and have a sing song with us Forget Me Not would welcome you.
