Call FAST On 868 487 015 For Help And Information
We Will Be Able To Give Valuable Assistance And Information Over The Phone.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic FAST are unable to attend patients. We aim to have our phone system running 24 hours a day to be able to give information, advice and support in a time of crisis.
You can ask us to call for an ambulance for you if you are unable to do so.
If you have to call for an ambulance, call 112
You can ask for an operator to speak in your language if you do not speak Spanish.
The operator will ask a series of questions so they can prioritise your call.
If you are here on your own, but have family in another country, give them the FAST number. If your family cannot reach you and are worried about your condition they can call FAST to check on you.
We can only provide the service as long as the funds keep coming in. We hope to be able to return to Responding as soon as we are granted permission from the local authorities.
The service that we provide is recognised by the British Consulate as a very important addition to the emergency services in Mazarrón.
We have a sponsored Golf Day on 14th November at the Camposol Club de Golf. There are still some sponsorship opportunities available. If you would like to ‘sponsor a hole’, please email committee@fast2016.org. There will be teams of 4 at €5 a head entry fee. The sign-up sheet will be available in the Pro shop at the golf club.
We are always looking for new Responders
Training is provided free to the Responder and uniforms are provided. Even with the restrictions in place we are planning the training programmes for when we can resume. Giving something back to our community is a very rewarding feeling. If you are interested, just email us at recruitment@fast2016.org
We also have a Social Secretary who organises social events (when we are allowed again). Let’s hope that will be soon!
If you are feeling the pressure of the restrictions on your way of life, why not talk to a friend about how you are feeling? You are not alone! The mental health of society in general has been affected by the change in our lifestyles due to the COVID-19 virus.

Twelve of our Responders completed a course in Mental Health First Aid. This is a valuable service that we are now offering to people on Camposol and Saladillo. If you know someone who may benefit from this service they can call us on 634 308 362. All calls are treated with complete confidentiality. Talking to someone who will not judge you will help you on the road to feeling that you are not alone; there are a lot of people feeling the mental pressure of this virus. Talking to someone will help.
When we get a call from someone distressed we have a series of questions to ask. Sometimes the caller will hang up or not be able to continue the call. In that instance we need to call them back. Our present phone system does not record incoming numbers. We have been looking for another phone system that will allow us to store incoming calls. We have found one, but cannot keep the FAST number. The new number is 868 487 015. The old number will still operate for some time yet. We will be getting new fridge magnets and pens etc with the new number on them.
