Cultural visits to the municipal cemetery of Mazarrón have returned. Until November 1, the Department of Historical Heritage has programmed twelve visits, one of them in the evening hours, to learn about the history, art and mysteries that surround the necropolis.
“Life and death in the years of mining”, this is the name of the IV edition of the Cultural Route to the municipal cemetery of Mazarrón.
This cultural route is already a tradition on these dates, for which it is necessary to register at or by phone 691 488 777.

Ginés Campillo, First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture and Historic Heritage conveyed the great reception that this activity has among the neighbours from Mazarrón and other towns that show a lot of interest in this cultural route to the municipal cemetery of Mazarrón. At the end of his intervention, Ginés Campillo introduced the journalist from Mazarron Miguel Rubio, who will guide the routes.

Miguel Rubio appreciats the support provided by the Mazarrón City Council for the organisaion of the Cultural Route to the Mazarrón cemetery and said “We have organized the visits with different hours of morning and afternoon and even one night visit on the 29th in which it will be necessary to have a flashlight ”, 
He also added: “The Route is called Life and death in the golden years of mining”, and we propose a trip to the mining roots of Mazarrón to know the heritage that keeps the municipal necropolis of Mazarrón. During the
route we will explain the historical moment in which the cemetery was built, the artistic movements that dominated at the time, we will talk about the architects who participated in the construction, what historical figures
lie in the cemetery with prominence in the mining boom. We will see mining tragedies but also love stories whose protagonists rest in the municipal cemetery ”.
