First and foremost, we would like to give a huge thank you to the Ladies Coffee Morning Group (Condado de Alhama) who kindly donated 350€, which not only will help us with our vets’ fees but will also help us to continue our therapeutic programmes with children.
Cavalli therapy projects are extremely successful. We get more and more requests from families whose small children don’t seem to respond to conventional therapy, more so in these dark days dominated by fear of all that surrounds the threat of Covid. Sadly, financing for our therapeutic riding from Alhama Social Services has come to a halt which means that children from low-income families are torn between riding and other, less effective, therapeutic activities.
As time goes on, we need the vets’ services more and more often. The Foundation is now taking care of two groups of feral cats. The kittens need feeding, worming and their jabs and the adult female cats must be sterilised.
Not only are we always grateful for donations in whatever size or form, we are always thrilled to have new volunteers. Cavalli animals, especially the horses, ponies and donkeys, love having people around to exercise, feed and groom them. Apart from the horses, ponies and donkeys, there is Bella the goat, the piglets – Bimba and Lola, the feral cats, the 3 dogs – Dama, Luna and George, the cockerels, the geese, Nevado and his broiler hens.
