Running up to Christmas and the end of 2021, (another complicated year), we wish all our friends and readers and especially the team of the Costa Cálida Chronicle for publishing our articles and spreading the word about the work we do at Cavalli Foundation, the very best Season’s Greetings.

Kenzo adopted
Kenzo adopted

In this article we would like to talk about animals’ rights, to a comfortable loving home, or the right to roam freely and safely amongst us.  A call came into the Foundation about Kenzo, an ex-showjumper with a diagnosis of probable Cushing’s Disease.  His owners, considered that he deserved a good home where he would be treated with love and kindness and asked us to do everything we could to help him.  Within a couple of days the doors were open to him and he was taken in by a Cavalli friend who had already adopted a horse through the Foundation in similar circumstances. God’s speed Kenzo.  Enjoy your new life.

Dog found injured on the main road being treated at veterinary hospital

As the Cavalli team were leaving the centre late one evening, they were horrified to find a dog lying injured at the side of the road. They were supposed to be meeting up with volunteers to discuss an event on the calendar in December, organised by Alhama Council.  All work stopped as they checked on the state of the dog and then rushed him to the veterinary hospital where they left him in the good hands of the staff.  News of the dog is that he survived the night and he is being treated at the Los Infiernos Animal Protection Centre where the vets are hoping he will be reclaimed by his owners – no chip, but he was wearing a flea collar.

To round off with happy news, the little kitten found in the haystack has been adopted by Cavalli Foundation volunteer, Sharon Snowden.  Both are madly in love with each other – as long as Lily is the boss!  As for Sandie; she had her operation and is now fully recovered.  We’ll give you an update with a photo of Sandie next month.  Many thanks to all who generously donated to the cause.
