Exhibition – Tierra Minera Y Cantaora by Artist Rosario Gijón @ Subjective Room ‘Nicomedes Gómez› of the Palacio Consistorial(until May 17th)
The young artist takes a tour of the landscape of the Sierra Minera, the experiences of the miners themselves and the International Festival of Cante de las Minas. The main objective has been to work with the land, use landscapes and capture wisdom and suffering and the risk involved in working in the mine, including the cause of deaths.

The film by the Murcian director Luis López Carrasco, shot in Cartagena and starring actors from the region, it is undoubtedly the event of the year and could not be absent from the
FICCMOTECA programming . The film has a long history of awards and recognitions in reference film festivals in various countries including France, Greece, South Korea, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. It has recently won the ‘Feroz’ award for Best Documentary, awarded by the Association of Cinematographic Informants. It has also received two Goya awards, for ‘Best Documentary Film’ and ‘Best Editing’.
Synopsis – Spain, 1992. The Barcelona Olympic Games, the Seville Expo and the commemoration of the fifth centenary of the discovery of America. The country proudly presents itself to the international community as a modern, developed and dynamic nation. Meanwhile, in Cartagena, the increasingly violent protests caused by the economic crisis culminated in the burning of the regional parliament.

This innovative puppet and musical show is full of magic. The promoter is the actor and director from Cartagena, Adían Quiñones, who is firmly committed to the theatre being a basic and fundamental tool in education.
In its short two-year history, the company has been chosen within the PLATEA 2021 Programme by the INAEM, of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, for its show for adults Un Atípico Quartero Lrico (premiered last year in El Batel).

Malaga actor Miguel Ángel Martín will perform with his ‘Monologues Of The New Normality’. Miguel acquired great notoriety during the quarantine of last March on social networks, where he shared his reflections through videos in which he recorded himself from home, talking about various topics with a touch of humour that made him connect with his audience. 7.30pm 10€

Online Chess (until 28th May)
‘Chessline Cartagena’; an online chess platform that under the slogan ‘Ajedrizate’ aims to serve as an educational tool after school hours and to stimulate participation of schools to set up a Municipal Chess League. The approximate cost is 15€.
The online chess platform ‘Chesslang’, will enable both monitors and students to make video calls with a shared chess board, as well as options for different types of tournaments, online training and many other activities.
There will be group classes of 8-10 with specialized platforms to teach chess, for one hour a week divided by levels, education and age.
