Club de Golf July Competition

It was a disappointing turn out, with soaring temperatures and one or two Covid cases to blame. The 32 golfers on show produced some sparkling golf, no doubt consumed gallons of water and went through a few bottles of factor 50.

CGA Men’s Wednesday Group

On 10th August, 32 players took to the course for the day’s competition which due to the intense heat was a simple format, 3, 2, 1 Pinehurst: 3 to score off the white tees, 2 off the yellow tees and 1 off the reds. As expected the scoring was very good.

Proud Parents Pam and Trevor with Iron Man Karen

In last month’s Costa Cálida Chronicle it was mentioned that Pam Andrew, who regularly plays golf with the ladies on a Tuesday and her husband Trevor, Secretary of the CGA Committee, were very proud parents when their daughter Karen took part in the Iron Man Challenge. Unfortunately the wrong information was put in about her timings. Karen Andrew only took 11hrs 40mins to complete the Open Water Swim of 3.8kms, a Bike Ride of 180kms, then a Marathon of 42.2kms, not the 21hrs 40mins stated, which is even more mind blowing.  The amazing amount raised for her chosen charity MABS has now gone up to a staggering 1,815€!

Camposol Golf Association Autumn Dinner Dance

This will be at the Playa Grande on Friday 16th September.  All the round tables which seat 10 will be in the Hotel’s Celebration Room.  The entertainment will be Melodee, a duo we have had before, who kept the feet tapping and the dance floor full. Brendan is great on the guitar and Mel has a superb voice.  There will be a 3 course meal which includes wine, beer/soft drinks whilst eating, all for 35€ which, considering everything has gone up, is really good value.  There will be a coach stopping at all the usual places, or alternatively you can stay the night at the hotel.  It will be a pleasure to have an excuse to dress to impress!  If you would like tickets please email  Looking forward to seeing you there.
