Camposol Golf Association Men’s Wednesday Group
Away Day at Roda Golf Course
This was a great success, the course was in mint condition and everyone in buggies so there were no casualties due to the soaring heat. The presentation was then held accompanied by a great buffet. Many thanks to John Layland for all his hard work over the last 6 months organising this event.
Results:
Outright winners on the day were N. Morgan, D. Freer, T. Colvin and L. Colvin with 130 points.
NTP winners D. Freer hole 7, N. Morgan 13. Nearest in 2 D. Deegan, 12.
This is a summary of the expenses on the day. €280 towards the golf fees,
€224 for the buffet, €65 for prizes, €64 in prize money.
The money for this was raised through the football cards and €140 we had left over from last year.
Wednesday Group’s Competition 2nd August
August looks like another scorcher, the course is looking in good condition, temperatures regularly in the 90s and the greens are in great condition due to the good work from the owners and green staff. It is a credit to all.
15 players took part in the weekly Wednesday competition, with injuries and illnesses we are doing very well at the moment to have a reasonable turn out, numbers will increase in due course. The format on the day was 123 waltz, 5 three balls, tees off the day were yellow, scoring on the day was excellent and we had a 3 way tie all scoring 82 points,
1st T. Andrew, E. Toye and M. Lewis. c/po scoring 44 back 9.
2nd N. Morgan, G. Allen and N. Smith, scoring 41 back 9
3rd B. Purkis, D. Deegan and D. Noakes, scoring 37 back 9.
There were three 2s Toye, Morgan and Deegan.
Wednesday Group’s Competition 9th August
This week’s C.G.A. Weekly Competition was a medal, 6 three balls, one score to count, the tees of the day were yellow, the scoring as ever was excellent, nothing new as we had another tie, 2 teams on 58 net 14 under par.
1st D. Watts, A. Rae and B. McCluskey. 30 strokes back 9
2nd D. Deegan, D. Bunn and N. Smith. 31 strokes back 9.
3rd N. Morgan, G. Allen and D. Griffiths. 61
There were three 2s, Deegan, Rae and McCluskey.

Club de Golf July Competition
This was sponsored by David Evans, Financial Advisor for Blacktower Financial Management. David very kindly donated towards the cash prizes awarded to the winners and provided other giveaways including golf balls and accessories.
The competition was well supported with 43 players who, despite extremely hot conditions, produced some excellent scores.
