The Annual Golfer & Non-Golfer Competition
This Competition took place on a very hot Saturday afternoon on 25th July
This is the third year we have held this fun 9 hole competition and it was great to see 32 pairs take part this year which had a record number of entries. This event is intended to be primarily a social and fun event to include non-golfing wives, husbands, partners, girlfriends, boyfriends, friends, neighbours and anyone else who can be dragged in to play!! We hope everyone’s relationships are still intact and that everyone enjoyed the afternoon.
There were some extremely good scores and also not surprisingly, some not so good scores!

Non Golfer Comp.
Starting the results with last place and receiving the ‘Lady Figuerine’ were Flavio Farrugia and Neil Spence with the grand total of 4 points.
1st and winning the ‘highly valuable’ Golfer and Non-Golfer Trophy this year were Brian and Shirley Tape with a fantastic score of 19 points. Congratulations to you both!
2nd place went to Degsy and Debbie Noakes just missing out on the trophy with 18 points.
3rd place went to Noaksie and Alex with 16 points, just edging out on countback, Ian and Helen Chapman into 4th place also with 16 points.
Nearest the Pin Winners:
Martin Lewis on hole 3
Pete Evans on hole 5
Nearest the Pin in Two on hole 8 was Brian Tape.
Longest Putt prize on hole 9 for the non-golfers went to Neil Spence.
Congratulations to all the prize winners and thank you to everyone who participated.
Stay safe, enjoy the summer and see you all in September.

CGA Competitions’ Secretary
Well played to all winners. My apologies last month’s medal should not have had points after scores.
CGA Summer Ball – 12th June
Sadly we had to cancel this event. We were very sorry to disappoint our many supporters. It is with regret that we are not looking to arrange our usual Christmas Dinner Dance either.
CGA Golfing Away Day
We have organised an Away Day to be held at Mar Menor on Friday 23rd October which will be subsidised by a massive 20€. The price with Spanish Federation Ins. should be 55€. With CGA Membership it will be 35€. First tee 10.33am. The signup sheet is in The Club House awaiting your signature. Only a limited number of tee times have been booked, so make the most of your membership with this very generous offer.
Firemen –v- Policemen Competition – Friday 11th September
This annual event is fun-packed and has lots of good natured banter between the teams. It is a 4 Ball Better Ball Match Play Competition. 7 Firemen and 3 Policemen were due to come over from the UK to play as they have enjoyed it so much in previous years, but we are unsure whether they will now be able to come due to the quarantine on their return to the UK. If you have not been a Fireman or Policeman (or indeed Policewoman), a team will be nominated for you. Last year 63 participants took part and it would be great if we could get a similar turn out this year. The signup sheet is in the Pro Shop at The Club House or get in touch with Lloyd Roberts or John Layland.
Take care and stay safe.
