Men’s Wednesday Group Competition

On 13th April the Wednesday Group finally got around to playing a Golf Competition which they played without getting wet.  The course, considering all the downpours, was in good condition.  We are very lucky here on Camposol that we have such good drainage enabling us to keep playing golf.

The format for the day´s Competition was 1, 2, 3 to count on the front 9 and 3,2,1 on the back nine.

Twenty five players turned out on what was a nice sunny Spring Day, the results were as follows:-

1st  Team   S. Dixon, S. Parsons, T. Hinkley, P. Constable   123 points.

2nd Team   D. Watts, D. Noakes, D. Smith     118 points.

Thanks to D. Plant and M. Lewis, for checking the cards and presentation.

Well done to all winners.

Ladies Tuesday Group

On 22nd March the Ladies were due to play a fun Competition followed by Lunch at the Diner on Sector “B”.   Unfortunately due to the rain the golf was called off but the lunch still took place, this apparently turned quite noisy in the end, with a great time being had by all.  Many thanks must go to Irene for all the hard work in organising such a super day for the Ladies.    The fun Competition Golf Day will now hopefully have taken place by the time you read this.

Hayley's Hole in One
Hayley’s Hole in One

Hayley Barker who regularly plays with the C.G.A. Ladies Group on a Tuesday achieved a “Hole in One” when playing with the Alley Palais Golf Group on a Sunday.  What a fabulous accomplishment from someone who has not been playing golf very long, even some professional golfers have never achieved this.  “Way to Go” Hayley!!

Camposol Golf Association Charity Quiz

On the 24th March the C.G.A. held a Charity Quiz for the benefit of the local Charities F.A.S.T., MABS and Age Concern.  There were only 65 participants for the Quiz but it was a nice friendly crowd and everybody enjoyed the evening.  Ida and Phil Halton did a fabulous job as MC’s making it a really fun night.  We really appreciate all the hard work they put in to make our Quizzes such a success.  We raised €425 for the charities – this will be amalgamated with the €960 raised from the Quiz held on the 4th November which 108 attended.  Thank you to all who took part in both Quizzes, we are very grateful for your support.
