Club de Golf March Competition
The March competition at Camposol Club de Golf took place on the 21st and was sponsored by Mercers. 53 players contested the competition in very windy and challenging conditions and some excellent scores were posted.
1st – Dave Freer with 37pts
2nd – Andy Money with 35pts
3rd – Veronica Porter with 34pts, winning on count-back from Pachi Martinez also on 34pts
5th – Dennis Jones with 33pts
6th – Rich Kingham with 31pts also winning on count-back

Forget Me Not Charity Golf Day
The inaugural Forget Me Not Charity Golf Day was played at Camposol Club de Golf on Saturday 30th March. Forget Me Not is one of the Captain’s chosen charities for this year and as it was a charity golf day the aim of the day was to have some fun and raise funds for this wonderful local charity with many local businesses and organisations stepping up to sponsor individual holes and provide raffle prizes. This fantastic support resulted in 1,500€ being raised on the day!
A fully loaded course with 88 players contested the competition on a well prepared course with the greens in excellent condition, although many players failed to take advantage with post match comments highlighting how many short putts were missed….if only! The format was a generous pairs Texas scramble with an allowance of 50% of total handicap. The overall winners were Adrian Turner and Dave Crosland with a net score of 58; 2nd were Hayley Barker and Derek Deegan with a net score of 59. 3rd on count back after 5 parings came in with a net score of 60 were Barry Wilkins and Dave Noakes with a back nine of 36.

Away Days
Away Day at Lorca was on Tuesday 14th April with a meal at Camposol Golf Club. Another Away Day has been booked at Altorreal for 7th October.
Charity Quiz
This took place on 5th April at The Club House. MC’s were Phil and Ida Halton who we would like to thank profusely for all their efforts in making the evening such a success. Thanks also to all 123 participants who supported this event making it possible to raise 866.56€ for our worthwhile Charities FAST, MABS and Forget Me Not. It was a very enjoyable evening with lots of lively banter between the Quiz players and the Question Masters. The Club House staff also did a great job.
CGA Sponsorship
We are again sponsoring the May Club de Golf Competition, giving Decathlon Vouchers for the main prizes.
Summer Ball
The CGA’s Summer Ball on the 31st May will again be held at the La Cumbre as everyone had such a great time there last year. The entertainment will be that fabulous Duo ‘Timewarp’ joining us all the way from Calpe.
Christmas Party
This has now been booked at the Playa Grande for 14th December. Entertainment will be provided by Carolynn May.
