Club de Golf Competition 27^th May Results 

Despite the May Qualifying Competition clashing with a mass vaccination session, 45 players teed off at 9.30am from the first and the tenth tees and, despite a few raindrops, the weather improved and some good scores were posted. 

A pesar de que la Competición Clasificatoria de Mayo se enfrentó con una sesión de vacunación masiva, 45 jugadores se retiraron a las 9.30 desde la primera y la décima tees y, a pesar de algunas gotas de lluvia, el clima mejoró y se registraron algunas buenas puntuaciones. 

We were grateful to the Camposol Golf Association, the longest serving society at Camposol, for their kind sponsorship of the competition which allowed us to present prizes to the first three in three divisions, as well as the usual fine wines for Nearest the Pins.

Agradecemos a la Asociación de Golf Camposol, la sociedad más longeva de Camposol, su amable patrocinio de la competición que nos permitió entregar premios a las tres primeras en tres divisiones, así como los vinos finos habituales para los más cercanos a las banderas.

CGA Men’s Wednesday Group Comp – 26^th May

Our Wednesday Competition was our monthly Texas Scramble, Fourballs ten per cent of the combined handicap.  There were some excellent scores on a blustery day.

Results:

1^st T Hinkley, R. Lawrenson, D Griffith, I Butters -h/cp 7.2 score 62.8.

2^nd J Venables, N Morgan, T Andrew, Captain – h/cp 7.2 score 64.9.

3^rd A Rae, M. Lewis, E. Toye – h/cp 4.9 result 65.1 (this team was a 3 ball)

Other notable scores were 65.6, 66, 66.5, 67.5

CGA Men’s Wednesday Group Comp – 2^nd June

Our monthly Medal Handicap Qualifier was played off the white tees.  It was really hot and a tough scoring day for a lot of the players, but they all got round and thoroughly earned the nice cold beer they had at the 19^th hole.

CGA Mens’ Wednesday Group Comp – 9^th June

This was a 2 scores from 4 and all to score on holes 2/6/9/12/14/17.   We all know the weather is getting hotter by the week, but that does not stop the winners’ high performances every week.

Results:

1^st – D Watts, J Layland, M Lee & G. Davies 114pts

2^nd – S Dixon, D Griffiths, D Bunn & C. Reid 109pts

3^rd – D Hopkins, N Smith, Patrick and E Toye 105pts

There were 5 2’s: N Smith, P Coulstock, N Morgan, D Freer, J Layland

There were 32 players taking part making 8 fourballs and a great day was had by all.
