Camposol Golf Association AGM

This will take place in the back room of The Club House at 3pm on Wednesday 5^th February.  The forms are up on the CGA Notice Board in the Gents’ Changing Room awaiting your signature should you wish to be part of the New Year’s Committee.

Men’s Turkey Trot Competition

The Men’s Wednesday Group held their Turkey Trot Competition and Christmas Lunch on 18^th December at The Club House. 

Winners of the Competition:

1^st Ian Butters – 37 points

2^nd Terry Colvin – 35 points c/b

3^rd D Baker – 35 points

4^th K Docking    

There was an excellent turnout of 32 players who enjoyed a great day of golf and it was nice meeting up with past and new members. Lunch was a great success followed by a cheeseboard and port which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. 

Ron Moss Trophy

This was played for in October and won by Andy Wakefield with 46 points.  Ron Moss was the CGA’s first President and later on a Captain.  The trophy has been played for annually since 2004 and is a lovely way to remember Ron.   Ann Moss who has re-located back to the UK was here on holiday and presented the trophy.

Charity Quiz

This will be held in The Club House early in March.  All the proceeds will be for our local Charities FAST, MABS and Forget Me Not who help the residents of Camposol so much.   Entrance fee will be 5€ with an optional supper of Chicken Curry/Chilli both served with rice at 5€.   We hope you will assist again by taking part, having a fun evening whilst raising funds for these very worthy charities.   Our last quiz held in November raised 890€. This amount, together with whatever is raised in March, will be divided equally between FAST, MABS and Forget Me Not.   The signup sheets will be displayed shortly and an email circulated with more details asking for your support.  With your help the combined total from our last 2 Charity Quizzes was 1,960€ which enabled us to give the 3 charities 650€ each.

Summer Ball

This year’s Summer Ball will be held at the Amapola Restaurant in early June Entertainment; yet to be booked.

Golfing Away Days in 2020

Thursday 19^th March – Roda.   First tee 10.24am.  Price with a buggy is 45€ but there will be a subsidy forthcoming from funds.

Friday 23^rd October – Mar Menor. First tee 10.32am.

An optional meal will be organised for our return to Camposol at a venue to be decided.
