Eugene’s Celebratory Birthday Golf Competition

To celebrate his 70th birthday Eugene, CGA Competition Secretary, held a Golf Competition with a buffet afterwards at Cat’s Bar. He thanked everyone the following morning. “Morning all, thank you for a fantastic golf competition and a great gathering afterwards at the presentation. Thanks must go to Derek Deegan and Steve Dixon. They did a fantastic job at the build-up and during this competition. For the golfers who could not make the golf due to other commitments, but came to the evening event, I want to thank you for making the effort. Golf has ups and downs! Ken Wakefield and Lloyd Roberts play golf about 6 times a year, but were in the winning team along with Des Watts and led by Steve Dixon who captained this team to the winner’s enclosure. Well done chaps. Thank you everyone for your lovely cards and presents.

Charity Quiz Night
This was a terrific success with 108 participants at The Club House on Thursday 4th November. The proceeds are for the benefit of FAST, MABS & Age Concern. The CGA Committee would like to thank Maria and the staff at The Club House for their efficient and helpful service. The amount raised was a staggering €956. There will be another Charity Quiz in March and hopefully a similar sum will be raised which will be amalgamated with the €956 before being distributed to the 3 Charities. Phil and Ida Halton did a fantastic job as MC’s, making it a really fun night. We really appreciate all the hard work they put in. The winning team comprising Norman, Dee, Nick and Julia Dilley and Pat and Norman Morgan very generously gave their winnings back to help swell the funds. Several people brought some super presents for the Raffle which thanks to your generosity brought in a huge amount. Our Committee member Debbie did her usual super job in creating 2 hampers for the Raffle. We do hope that you will be able to come along to the March event enabling us to give these hard working charities a really substantial amount for their funds.
