Club de Golf February Competition

The second Competition of 2021 had a very good turnout of 60 players and good weather to make the day even more enjoyable. Strange to say only two players managed to beat the magic 36 points mark, so well done to them. What happened to the rest! 

El segundo Club de Golf Torneo de 2021 tenido buen apoyo de 60 jugadores y un buen tiempo para disfrutar el día. Es extraño que solamente hay dos jugadores con el marcador mágico de 36 puntos, entonces muy bien hecho a ellos. Que pasa con el resto!

Well done to all those who took part and received handicap adjustments and congratulations to the winners. I would also thank you for your understanding of the card situation and for filling in those cards correctly (in most cases). We only had one old card submitted, as the paper substitute had been punctured by the marker’s pen.

Muy bien hecho a los que han participado y recibido un ajuste de handicap, y felicidades a los ganadores. Tengo que agradecer tus entendimiento de la situación con las tarjetas y por llenándolas correctamente (por lo menos) Hemos tenido solo una tarjeta vieja, porque la tarjeta papel ha sido rota por el bolígrafo del marcador. 

The Club de Golf Competition was on 23^rd March, sponsored by Golden Leaves and will be the Club de Golf Memorial Trophy, in memory of all those past members of Camposol Golf who have passed away. My Drive In which was postponed from January Competition should also have taken place.

CGA Men’s Wednesday Group

Results of the Handicap Medal Qualifier on 3^rd March.

This was played in quite breezy conditions, especially from the back tees and scoring was difficult as the results will show:

Division 1

• 1^st S Parsons 76
• 2^nd D Watts C/po 77
• 3^rd J Layland 77

Division 2

• 1^st D Hinkley 74
• 2^nd D Bunn 77 C/po
• 3^rd T Andrew 77

There was only one 2. This went to our new member G Davies who won 25€ to open his CGA account.

Many thanks to R Lawrenson who did a fine job doing the cards, checking 2’s Comp and the presentation of all monies by himself; a fantastic job!

Mens’ Wednesday Group Competition – 10^th March

Our competition was a Pinehurst, consisting of 27 players, therefore we had 9 three balls 5 drives; each played in glorious sunshine.   The course is getting better by the week. Full marks to Green Staff and the owners for doing a great job.

Shot of the day must go to D Freer for holing his second shot on the 8^th hole, closely followed by M Lewis making the 18^th green in two and then knocking the putt in for a 3 for 44 points, pipping the team that led for most of the day by one.
