Great Teamwork
A packed month for the D Gardening Teams saw the completion of the stepped gardens leading off Calle Piteras, the bin areas by the garden and Calle Babinas/Fresnos and refurbishment of the petanca court/sitting area at the bottom of Calle Esparraguera.
The picture above shows a happy Grounds Maintenance Team, after completing the last of the stepped gardens. Lots of pruning, weeding and tidying up of paths and gravelled areas. All that hard work but what an outcome!
The petanca court, gardens and sitting area were the pride and joy of Pete and fellow residents. The Project Team has carried out a full refurbishment and a new team is in place to maintain the area on an ongoing basis.
Following some delays, the bin refurbishment project was completed. The picture to the right shows the Project Team collecting decorative rocks to align with the look and feel of the lone garden, whilst creating a concrete plinth for the large bins on Babinas. The purpose is to create bin areas that can be cleaned easily.
Dates for your diary
D Street Clean – the morning of 10th May will see teams of volunteers litter-picking, cleaning the bin areas and weed clearance. To volunteer please see the D Community Face Book page or website. This is your opportunity to spruce up the sector by giving D a spring clean.
Paella Party – the first D Community social event of 2023 will be held on Sunday 30th April, starting at 1.30pm. The venue will be Calle Salvias D34, tickets cost 10€ and can be booked and reserved at dsecevents@gamil.com
The event will have a Spanish theme with paella and background music.
