It’s been a frustrating time for the team, firstly torrential rain, followed by the dreaded red rain.

March, a month to forget. This has resulted in our target of completing the verging and new pathway at the Sector D Pentanque Courts being severely delayed.

However, we are pleased to confirm that the path and verges have been completed and really enhance the area.

The path, complemented by tables and seating, allows beautiful views of the coastal mountains and a relaxing walk as you take in the views.

The team started its next major project in mid April, which is the trimming of the palms and clearing of the roadside weeds on Los Covachos. This work sometimes goes unnoticed but please take some time when you drive along Los Covachos to see the neatly trimmed palms, it makes such a difference.

The film, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly comes to mind, you be the judge.

Seriously, without the hard work of this team of volunteers you would not see well-maintained verges, gardens and facilities on Sector D.

However, the team needs more volunteers.

Firstly, to maintain our existing maintenance schedule which, pardon the pun, grows yearly.

Secondly, we need to undertake more community-based projects such as tree planting and the creation of more pathways and rest areas.

You don’t need to be a permanent resident to volunteer, so if you are one of the “90 dayers” give a few hours of your time and volunteer, we do make a difference.
