We have almost completed our negotiations with suppliers for our Adopt a Tree project, having received a very good response from residents to adopt a tree. During our group meeting on 13th November, we will be seeking membership agreement for the expenditure of approximately 5,000€.  Shortly thereafter, we will be contacting all adoptors with provisional planting dates for their trees, which will give them the opportunity to personalise their trees by placing an adjacent plaque if they so desire.

The group have been very busy in the past month, collecting donated plants, trees and shrubs from generous residents and then replanting them around D Sector.  We have also been busy with the never-ending weeding, watering and clearance of existing planted areas.  We are now on first name terms with the staff at the Ecoparc!

Our road team have been out every Thursday trying to do as many repairs as they are able to keep the dual carriageway open. Thankfully, their numbers have increased dramatically, from two volunteers to four volunteers, but we still need more volunteers to join them to repair even more potholes etc.

After a fantastic End of Summer Ball, we are now looking forward to our Christmas Party at Mariano’s on 15th December.  This event is open to all, not just Sector D residents. Tickets can be purchased from Laurie, at the Golf Club every Thursday from 2.30pm-4pm, for 22€.  This includes coach journey to and from the venue. Whilst buying your tickets you can also ask Laurie about volunteering to help set up the venue on the day.

No Christmas period would be complete without a Carol Concert and we are pleased to announce that the Wellspring Victory Choir will once again be giving us a Carol Concert at the Triangle, Camposol D at 6pm on Tuesday 19th December when mulled wine and mince pies will be served. The event is free, but there will be a collection at the end to help support their activities. If last year is anything to go by, it will be a great family evening.  Bring your kids and grandkids; it is open to all.

Finally, a big thank you to all D Sector Bucketeers for their sterling efforts every Friday.  Without their efforts, we wouldn’t be able to do all the other activities.
