Happy Easter from the Green Fingers Group
It’s so nice to finally see the temperature going in the right direction. Our volunteers certainly are thankful for the heat as they turn out on Wednesday mornings to continue the work of maintaining the plants as you enter Sector C. In recent weeks they have continued to weed the Rambla Road and bottom of the Dual Carriageway. Also trimming the yuccas and palms along the Rambla Road. They have also started to plant new plants.
3 of our team went to give Camposol B Clean a hand to lay 28 tons of gravel during February.
We have had an average of 6 volunteers, but will still give a warm welcome to anyone wanting to join. Just turn up at the Welcome wall at the entrance to Sector C on Wednesdays.
Maintenance Scheme
The streets on lower Sector C benefit form the work of the Green Fingers Maintenance Team. They ensure the streets are clean and weed-free. Contrary to what some believe, Mazarrón Council do not do this work; it’s down to our team. However, in order to cover the costs, we ask those home owners (whether permanent or holiday home) to contribute to the costs. All we ask is that you contribute €5 per month. Coronation Street Party
The Coronation of King Charles III takes place on Saturday May 6th, so we are arranging a Street Party on Sunday 7th May to celebrate. The party will be held on Calle Jimena on Lower C from 4pm. There will be music and Carl Thomas, from Total Star Radio, will DJ for us. There will be a BBQ with a choice of burger or sausage bap at a cost of €6, but you can bring your own food and drink. If you will be having food from the BBQ we need to know your requirements when you book. Tickets are €5 and children under 12 go free, so come along and celebrate the Coronation of UK’s new King.
