The Club was formed six years ago to provide a focal point for anyone interested in constructing or collecting scale models of all kinds and this remains the ethos of the Club today. Having said that, it has to be admitted that the predominant interests of the current membership are railway and ship modelling and model engineering.

Any readers who watched the recent Channel Five series, The Great Model Railway Challenge, will find the efforts of our railway modelling members quite conservative. The special effects and pyrotechnics are missing! However, convincing results are achieved using a more conventional approach as can be seen from the photographs. In scale, the layouts range from N Gauge at 2mm to the foot through 00 at 4mm up to a live steam garden railway at 16 mm to the foot.

As well as conventional practice, engineering interests also include small scale CNC machining and, more recently, computer controlled 3D printing.
The Club takes its name from the Camposol Urbanisation near to Mazarrón, the home of the founding members. The present membership however consists of enthusiasts from across the Murcia Region. We meet on a monthly basis either on Camposol or, by invitation, at the homes of individual members. The latter gives everyone an opportunity to see first-hand the results of the efforts of others and to offer constructive comments. In this way all our members benefit. We have a considerable pool of experience and information within the Club which members are always happy to share.

Our website http://camposolanddistrictmodelclub.webeden.co.uk/ gives an indication of the varied activities of our group.
We are a friendly bunch, so if you are interested in joining the Club or would like to attend a meeting to see what we are about, you can call Richard on 666 186 037 or email r.hollows@hotmail.com

Finally, if Father Christmas brought you a shiny train set, a boat kit or a doll’s house, why not get in touch and maybe we can help you to make your new ‘toy’ into something really special!
