Gosh October already. How time flies!
We were hoping for some let-up with the heat in September, but no such luck. The donkeys have managed exceptionally well and we hope they manage the same as we head into the winter months.
Wednesday 26th October – Fundraising Trip to Benidorm €18
We now have 5 donkeys to castrate, which will cost a total of €850 so we are hoping for a sell-out on this trip.
Pick-up points: Bolnuevo, Camposol, Puerto de Mazarrón, MCC and Condado. The coach departs from Bolnuevo at 8am, leaving Benidorm at 6pm giving you a full day either shopping or sightseeing.
Tickets available from our Mazarrón shop or from Andrea/Kevin on Mondays 11.30am-1.30pm on Camposol B car park.
The other morning we were shocked to find a dog asleep under our bushes! How on earth did she find us? When we saw the state she was in, of course we had to help her. They say a picture tells a thousand words! Well it certainly does in this girl’s case. We are waiting for the blood results to confirm she has leishmania. We hope her liver and kidneys are not damaged as she is absolutely beautiful and friendly, but she is in such a mess and so hungry.
The vet says she is around 2-3 years old. We have named her Sophia – a pretty name for this beautiful soul. If you would like to donate to help Sophia we would be very grateful. She doesn’t deserve the life she’s had for sure and we will do our best to give her a better life with your help.
You probably all read about a donkey running on the AP7 motorway on 21st August. This boy is now under the protective wings of our team at AAR. He is awaiting castration, (not sure he’s happy about that!!), but it has to be done! Many thanks to the lady who has agreed to pay all his expenses until we can move him to our Sanctuary. His name is Santos. Welcome to AAR sweetheart you are loved already!

As usual every Monday there will be someone (usually me!) in the car park on the roundabout on Camposol B where you can drop donations off from 11.30am-1.30pm. We are very visible with yellow panels on the side of our vans! Larger items can be collected by prior arrangement. Items can also be dropped off at our shops in Roldan or Mazarrrón 10.3am-1.30pm
