We are feeling incredibly happy and proud as in October we managed to move the first group of donkeys to our land at La Paca.
My little darlings are enjoying the safe, peaceful environment and are having a ball. We are hoping to move a few more in the next few weeks. This is a huge step forward to us. Unfortunately it is not open to the public yet as we still have quite a lot of work to do with regards to the café and bathroom facilities and no doubt another round of paperwork.
Help Needed
We have a kitchen that needs to be fitted in our café but sadly no-one to fit it. We need a joiner/carpenter to help us with this project and would be incredibly grateful if anyone could offer their services. This would be a huge step towards our opening and welcoming you to our Sanctuary.
Another appeal now that some of our donkeys are at La Paca
As beautiful as it is, it does get quite a bit colder in the winter months. Our donkeys will need blankets to keep them nice and warm and help maintain their body heat, shield them from the winds and keep them dry. Donkey’s coats are not waterproof, so a warm blanket really will help them. The Diner on Camposol B hosted a quiz for us raising a whopping 388€. Thank you Sue and team for ensuring the evening went smoothly. Every precaution was carried out regarding COVID-19. We are always looking at different ways of raising funds, so if you have any suggestions please get in touch. If you have a business and would be willing to host an event for us we would love to hear from you.
We Need Volunteers To Work In The Shops
We desperately need to open our shops on Saturdays, so please give it some consideration. Financially the difference opening on this day is massive to us. Donations can be dropped off at our shop in Mazarrón Town or Roldan, Mon-Fri 11am-2pm.
We are still working tirelessly trying to help out with injured dogs. Pipo was handed into the vets with an injury that we think was caused by a car. This resulted in surgery and ultimately we found him a home in Blackpool! A great result, though until he can go in December, we need a foster carer. Being a short term foster carer is such an important part of our support network, but for now he has to put up with me!
Lovely Gitana is still looking for her forever home. She only has 3 legs, but do not be fooled by this; she bounds around on 3 legs as good as 4!! She loves her walks and is in great shape.
