MAY – no way! How on earth have we got to May so soon? The weather has been super; so much better than all the rain we had last year, but we do need some rain. Last year the early Alfa fields were flooded which affected the yield. This year they’re so dry and again it will affect the yield, so we’re dammed either way. We need the forage as there is no grass as such in this area, so everything must be bought in. In an ideal world everything would be plentiful. We live in hope!
Our fundraising trip to Benidorm was absolutely fab! The sun was shining and there were lots of lovely people on the coach. Thank you to Linda and Dave for the wonderful raffle. You really did us proud. Most importantly we raised some euros for our beautiful donkeys.
During last month we were contacted by the TV crew in Lorca to do a Commercial. What a super afternoon we had with Jose and Dario and the donkeys all behaved themselves. (The promise of lots of carrots did the trick!). The end result can be seen on our Facebook page.
We all know how we love the Easter Bunny because he brings chocolate – normally. This year our boys and girls asked for carrots and apples, so we launched our Carrot Appeal. Wow! We were blown away by the amount of people who brought us carrots and apples. Thanks guys. We had bags and bags full for the donks as well as donations from many more. Thank you once again. You really do spoil our donks.
We’ve had a quiet month – shhhhhh! Let’s hope it stays that way.
On the homing front, Mollie, the mother of the pups, found a home with a lovely couple on Camposol. Now we just have to home her 4 remaining girls who are now 5 months old and little stunners.

Every Monday there will be someone (usually me!) in the car park on the roundabout of Camposol B. You can drop donations off from 11.30am-1.30pm. We are very visible with yellow panels on the side of our vans. Larger items can be collected by prior arrangement. Items can also be dropped off at our shops in Roldan or Mazarrón from 10.30am-1.30pm
