Hope you’ve all had a Happy Easter – at last the rain seems to have disappeared and we have sunshine all the way! What a feel good factor for us all and the donkeys of course
Our Donkey fact For May – A donkey can hear another’s donkey bray up to 60 miles away. That is 18 miles further than from Roldan to Mazarron where our two shops are. Have to say though that’s in a desert environment with no people, traffic or buildings lol!
Well what a month we’ve had weather-wise. Wettest March for 100 years – then snow on the mountains. The donkeys were not impressed. Thick squelchy mud on their hooves and up their legs. The only positive is that the flies haven’t descended upon them yet, so although we have had several really generous people sending money and others bringing flymasks to our shops, we still don’t have enough for all our herd, so if you could contribute even a little towards one, we would be so grateful.

Have we any donkey fans out there who are looking for something different? We’re looking for 1 or 2 volunteers/Managers to look after our gorgeous long-eared fur babies. Accommodation is provided, as is electric, water and internet. A knowledge of equines is preferable and so is a car, but not essential. The position(s) will be from the beginning of June. If you love donkeys as much as we do and feel that this is for you then please phone or email me

Last month we welcomed little lad Tot into our herd and he’s settling in great. We also have a fabulous new donkey from Italy by the name of Junior. Junior has lived in Spain a few years and he is still a baby at only 4 years old. Sadly Junior’s owner became poorly so she couldn’t look after him any longer. This stunning boy hasn’t got a sponsor yet though so if you feel you’d like to help and get updates on him, please contact me.

Has anyone got room in their life for a gorgeous little dog with tons of character? Meet Reggie. Reggie loves his toys, playing fetch with his ball and would even like a lady friend doggie after introduction. Reggie is 6 years old, fully vaccinated, neutered, chipped, passported with no health problems. He is a little shy until he gains your trust and can travel out of Spain if you know of anyone who would give him his loving furever home. He’ll pay you back tenfold with undivided love and loyalty. Please contact me if you can help. Andrea x
