Wow what a feel-good factor after a rainy miserable couple of months. We have sunshine with no rain forecast for the foreseeable future! We have a herd of very contented donkeys who love the warmer weather which means they can happily graze all day.
Our donkey fact for June – Who would have guessed that China has more donkeys than any other country in the world!!
We have two exciting announcements to make this month:
First of all, the levelling for our shelters was completed at the beginning of May. This is going to make such a difference now getting the shelters up. The donkeys will be very happy when the sun gets too fierce, as they will have their own protection from the sun and then in the winter months, respite from the wind and rain. We are all so pleased with the work in progress.
Our other exciting news is that big, handsome boy Midnight has bagged himself a fab home in Xixona, Alicante. He is settling in well in his new home and making friends with another two horses. Be happy Midnight and thank you to Simone!
Have we any cat lovers out there!
We don’t just take care of donkeys and dogs here. We have 3 gorgeous friendly cats looking for their forever home. Hopefully someone could take the three of them together. There is one female of 3 years old and 2 males at 2 years old – a beautiful tortie girl and 2 handsome tabby males. They are all fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and are so affectionate – proper cuddle cats. Please ask your friends and get in touch with Andrea.
We are still looking for someone or a couple to help look after our gorgeous long-eared fur babies. Accommodation is provided, as is electric, water and internet. A knowledge of equines is preferable and so is a car, but not essential. The position(s) will be from the beginning of June. If you love donkeys as much as we do and feel that this is for you then please contact Andrea
Last but not least
Please try and pop up to see us at Camposol every Monday. We are on Sector B carpark between 11.30am and 1.30pm. We are always grateful for any unwanted items you wish to donate. Oh, and the donkeys asked me to mention that they love juicy apples and carrots if you happen to be shopping! Fly masks are also still required. We have lovely, generous people who support the donkeys. Some of which have already donated to help keep those pesky flies away, but we desperately need more, so if you can spare anything at all, please either donate via our paypal address (https://www.paypal.me/AARHF?locale.x=en_ES) or maybe choose and buy one yourself through Amazon.es and send it to us.
