Everyone at AAR would like to wish all our readers and supporters a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2020.
I know great things are going to happen with AAR this year with the continued development of La Paca. If we get phase one completed, our donkeys will have their new homes, particularly those in livery. La Paca always was a long-term project and we so need our lottery numbers to come up!! Monthly updates on our FB page.
Just before Christmas we had great news about our little boy Toffee. We have a good feeling about his new family and our little chap Two Socks also has his forever home. All good things come to those that wait!
Baby donkey Bombon is doing so well. Her appetite is growing and she is now on some solid food. We had an emergency just before Christmas when we were down to a minimal amount of donkey milk due to a distribution error in Madrid!! Thank you to the vets in Alicante who managed to help us out and thank you Sue Allen for your invaluable help collecting the milk and meeting us. There are plenty of other ways you can help our charity.

I was once again very honoured to be asked by St Nicholas Church on Camposol to bring one of our donkeys to their Christmas Eve Service. Lola was chosen and she entered the church to the carol ‘Little Donkey’. Beautiful Lola did us proud as always! Little Bombon also put in a special appearance and she loved the attention. She is so small that our gangly Bruno is bigger than her now. She is just 7 weeks old and has been through so much in her little life.

Lola and Bombon were also at our annual Christmas Donkey Day at Camposol with mulled wine and mince pies. I just hope their heads don’t get too big with all these special appearances and celebrity status! A huge big thank you to everyone who came to see us, donated money and goods. It was wonderful to catch up with so many people and be able to give a little something back at that time of year. Here’s to next year!!
We have had a successful month rehoming and transporting dogs to their new homes, so goodbye; Toffee, Two Socks, Perdi, Luna and Lady. It’s been a pleasure. We also have super news on Dulcie, but I will save that for next month!
Our shops in Roldan and Mazarrón Town have dining tables and chairs, to sofas, beds, mattresses, tables, pictures, lamps, ornaments and much more! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the 1€ Clothing Sale in January. Bring a bag and fill it up! We welcome donations at our shops from 10.30am-1.30pm.
I will be at Camposol B Car Park on Mondays from 11.30am-1.30pm to collect any unwanted clothes, furniture, bric-a-brac, books, cd’s and jewellery. I usually have one or two companions with me.
