February already! Where on earth did January go?

As most of our supporters know we had a very busy December. We attended the live Nativity on the 17th organized by St Nicholas Church and what a fabulous afternoon we all had. If you didn’t go, you missed a real treat. Thank you to everyone who attended and took part. Lola 2 was a super star and so well behaved. Thank you to everyone who donated. The money raised went towards our never-ending feed bills.

On the 19th December we had our annual Mulled Wine and Mince Pies on Camposol B. We had a super time and lots of people turned out to see Lola 2 in her Christmas attire. To everyone who donated, thank you so much. We really appreciate every cent. Lola 2 attracted quite a few admirers and even bagged herself a few sponsors. Bless you all.

Mollie’s puppies at the time of writing are now 6 weeks old. Of course we are looking for special homes and Mollie herself also needs a home, so if you are looking for a very small dog please contact us.

The weather has been really kind to us. With the extra donations over Christmas we were able to buy more feed which we have been able to stack, cover and store, but what a shock we got. A lorry load normally costs €1250. Not any more!!  The feed has gone up so much. The lorry load was €1617! We were gob smacked! We had to find the extra money. The donkeys need to eat! The suppliers literally have us over a barrel! Anyone with animals will say the same. The feed prices have gone through the roof. We can only hope and pray the prices come down.

SO!!

If you would like to donate to help care for the 109 donkeys we now have – yes 109 lol – please send me a message or WhatsApp.

As usual, every Monday there will be someone (usually me!) in the car park on the roundabout on Camposol B where you can drop donations off between 11.30am-1.30pm. We are very visible with yellow panels on the side of our vans. Larger items can be collected by prior arrangement. Items can also be dropped off at either of our shops in Roldan or Mazarrón between the hours of 10.30am-1.30pm

Take care
