Well it’s February already, January has flown by and the cold weather is well and truly here. Some nights at the sanctuary have dropped to -2 and with the cold winds it certainly does feel freezing.  We have warm rugs on the older donkeys and the ones with thinner coats, but we are still short on a few and would really like them all rugged. We and the donkeys would be so grateful for any donations towards these that you could spare.

We are asking €30 euros per rug so we can buy them in Spain at cost from a supplier. You can also PayPal or pop in our bank, but please mark who it’s from . Our PayPal and bank details are further down the post .Thank you .

So how many equines do we have ????

Oscar …. Before we collected him, a very depressed boy
Oscar …. Before we collected him, a very depressed boy

Well – we now have a total of 101 Equines .. this includes 12 ponies 5 horses and the rest are donkeys – WOW, where on earth do they come from?

A NEW YEAR …. unfortunately it doesn’t stop for the animals. I was sent a video of a boy in Calasparra, absolutely breaks my heart to see this boy who once was loved, when he was a foal !!! Now he has nothing, no bed, no shelter…. fed with bread and scraps, it’s absolutely NO LIFE FOR HIM, he was lonely and depressed, and called out whenever he saw the two angels that fed him, hoping they would save him from this hideous life. Of course we wanted to free him… to do this we needed to urgently raise €370 which is the  transport money and castration to save this boy.  After an appeal on Facebook we soon raised the money from some very kind and generous supporters and we we were on our way.

Now he’s tucked up in a stable … just how it should be on these cold nights

The Calasparra boy, now named Oscar, is safely tucked up under our precious AAR wings and today the sun is shining and so was this boy. This has been made possible by all the fantastic people and their donations. We wanted to give him a wonderful life, well he now has it , thanks to our amazing supporters

The AAR promise …. sweetheart you will never want for anything ever again.

WELCOME TO AAR

We will keep you updated on his progress.

Happy February everybody, Thank-you for your continued support

Love Andrea, Kevin and all the team at AAR xxx

As usual every Monday someone (usually me!) will be in the car park on the roundabout of Sector B on Camposol where you can drop donations off between 11.30am-1.30pm. We are very visible with yellow panels on the side of our vans. Larger items can be collected by prior arrangement. Otherwise, items can also be dropped off at either of our shops in Roldan or Mazarron between the hours of 10.30am-1.30pm.
