The Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, presented on Wednesday at the Institute of Tourism of Murcia the XX Día Nacional de las Vías Verdes, along with the Director General of the Institute of Tourism, Manuel Fernández-Delgado and the Manager of the Greenways Consortium of the Region of Murcia, Juan Soria

The day will take place next Saturday, May 12, and starts at 9.30 am with a round trip of 9 kilometres along the Vía Verde de Mazarrón, with departure from the D4 road and the Country Club urbanization.

Fernández-Delgado said that “this is one of the great activities of the year for lovers of nature and hiking, and this edition is very special, since the route runs through the new La Pinilla-Mazarrón route”.

The General Director of the Tourism Institute ratified the Regional Government’s commitment to interior, nature and active tourism, and congratulated the Consortium of the Greenways of the Region for their work, “which has allowed, in recent years, the Greenway of the Northwest to be added to the greenways of Cartagena, Mazarrón and Almendricos, which account for a total of more than 150 kilometres.

The Mayor, Alicia Jiménez, pointed out “the importance of the tourism projection the organization of this event presents as it puts in value the inner zone of the municipality and shows the wide possibilities of leisure that Mazarrón offers for sports tourism and Nature”.
