Christian Fellowship WELCOME HOUSE
A different way of doing “church”
As I write, we are in Wales. I seemed to have watched too much television; I would much prefer to be doing something creative! That said, there were two programmes that captured my attention; one on how pencils are made and the other about the production of dried pasta. We take all these things for granted and I had no concept of what it took to arrive at the end product. It was fascinating!
The pencil is made from graphite taken from the ground and is eventually surrounded by two pieces of wood.
Pasta, made from duram wheat, is grown on the land.
These are two very different products; both derived from God’s creation. Of course it took technology, machinery and very clever folk to get these raw products to their final stage, but who do you suppose, gave these clever folk their knowledge in the first place?
Recently I have undergone two cataract operations. I cannot begin to put into words my gratitude towards the use of technology and the clever folk who helped restore my sight. Again, who do you suppose gave these folk their knowledge, not only to carry out the procedure, but to use the technology that someone else developed? Where did they get their knowledge from?
Definition of knowledge: – the information known by a person from studying or gaining experience.
Proverbs 1:7 says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Solomon became King at a very young age. His first request to God was for wisdom. Read 1 Kings 3:5-12. Solomon pleased God.
This is a lesson for us all when we feel inadequate. Turn to the one most able to teach and direct us that we might gain the knowledge that God wants for us in our lives.
