Please answer the questions.
Name —. Servant
Place of worship — where ever I’m able to be close to God. My garden is a particularly good place.
Would you say that you worship daily?
Yes, but life does have a habit of getting in the way.
Are you committed to your religion?
No I am committed to God.
The dictionary defines ‘committed’ as being morally dedicated.
Would you say that applies to you?
Yes I would.
Other definitions suggest: entrustment, pledging, binding, safe keeping.
As a Christian, how would you define commitment?
I would agree with your definitions, but there’s more.
It’s about having a personal relationship with God; one where you strive to spend as much time in His company as possible, talking and trying to understand His ways.
Is that a healthy attitude to give up so much time to one relationship?
Of course, especially when we are referring to a relationship with the Lord.
How would you react if someone else tried to get in on this relationship?
No-one else could. Someone called Satan might try, but God will hold me in the power of His hand.
Are you saying that everyone else is precluded?
Certainly not. God welcomes everyone.
Would you encourage others to embrace such a relationship, or would you prefer to keep it for yourself?
It’s there for the taking, for anyone who believes and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. God intends all Christians to share together in fellowship
Do you think being a committed Christian means not associating with those who are not?
On the contrary. I’m obligated to gossip the good news to everyone, to encourage a similar relationship. After all if, I’d found a really good bargain in the super market I would be sure to want to spread it around!
