I am sat here mid-June writing this newsletter and we are in the midst of the transport strike. Rainbow satellites is affected as our supply of 1.45 dishes is stuck on a lorry in Portugal and at the time of writing we are not sure when we can take delivery. Thankfully our clients waiting understand it's beyond our control and are sitting patiently waiting for their UK TV and missing Euro 2008!! We are hearing of mayhem in the food isles at supermarkets with folks coming to blows over the last bag of frozen chips!!
The weather is heating up at the moment and the pool is almost warm!! .....................
Right lets have some TV news!!!
Channel four has recently gone cardless but on a new stronger frequency..........this is good news as even people with 1.35 dishes and no cards can receive it. For a nominal fee we can programme it in to your digibox for you. We have no more information on the new Freesat system yet but we have an order placed for some normal & HD boxes but they are caught up in the transport strike too. We will get them soon and perform some definitive tests.
We have word from a client who has a new Freesat box from the UK that they work well but we cannot be specific till we get the delivery and test. It now looks certain that Sky channels including sport will no longer be available on the "mesh system" and contrary to rumour will not return, but remember, with your own dish/box and contract card you can receive any programmes from the Sky platform including sports channels.
Finally, dishes can be shared between adjoining properties, cutting down the cost of an installation and blocks of apartments can all be served from one dish. If you are buying a property, be sure to get a good satellite TV installer to check the possibility of the large dish requirement for UK TV before you finally buy.
