The West End show ‘The Jersey Boys’ is having enormous success and those who have seen it are not surprised. The Four Seasons’ music is vibrant, catchy and never seems dated.

harlequin choir image1The Harlequin Rock Choir has used one of their songs ‘Oh What a Night’ as a lively introduction for a while now; dancing onto the stage, then singing it later on in the performance, so the idea of a Jersey Boys compilation to add to our repertoire was popular.

A compilation is never easy to put together and perform, but the clever arrangement by Musical Director Andy Hurrell, with the advantage of more male voices joining the choir and the Four Seasons type choreography created by the other Musical Director Ann Thompson works well.

harlequin image2The months of hard work paid off on 16th July when we appeared at the summer fête in Los Palacios, Camposol. Our Four Seasons tribute was enjoyed by all; as much as the Queen one we have been performing for over a year. The fête had been going on all day with stalls and activities enjoyed by all and The Harlequin Rock Choir came on in the evening to a rather large audience ready for some entertainment after a fun-packed day. We were also pleased to help Los Palacios Gardening and Community group raise funds for local charities.
It must be said that, as a Rock Choir, we can vary our repertoire, choosing ballads as well as more upbeat music. It is what drew me to join The Harlequin Rock Choir and although I like classical songs, I much prefer to sing modern ballads and catchy tunes. I love watching our audiences jigging along when we perform!

If you feel as I do, join our choir.
After a summer break we start back on September 3rd. If you would like to try us out then contact me on details below and I will get in touch. We will be working towards a few performances that we have booked for the rest of the year – look out for our publicity for information!

Are you holding an event for charity and would like us to perform? Contact me on details below. Please be aware that we would need a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks’ notice to make sure we are well-prepared for a performance.
