It is without a doubt that Spain is well known for its fiestas and for the last few years the Camposol community has held some memorable fiestas. This year’s Camposol Fiesta was an enormous success and the choir was very honoured to have been asked to perform at the end of the first evening.
Our performance ended at midnight and I am sure that, like me, most of the members had a little siesta in the afternoon to make sure they were fresh and ready to give what many people have said was our best performance to date! The variety in our repertoire caters to all tastes and many of our songs, especially our Abba mix, had people dancing and singing along with us. At the same time a bucket was passed around and the audience kindly donated 296€ for MABS.
We have been working hard to improve our stage performance, making sure we smile and connect with the audience. By the time we went on stage at the fiesta it was very dark and it was so strange because we couldn’t see our audience. Nevertheless we all endeavoured to smile and put expressions on our faces like true professionals!!
With the summer behind us the Harlequin Rock Choir is preparing for performances leading up to Christmas. We are in the planning stages of a concert for Help the Poor which we usually do coming up to Christmas, so look out for details on that nearer the time.
A definite date to put in your diaries is 19th October at Mariano’s, Camposol A, starting at 7pm. The Leos, that wonderful group of young people, have asked us to help them raise funds for a playground on Camposol. Entry is free but we are hoping the audience will give generously with donations. The Leos feel very strongly about the future of Camposol and the surrounding area and they are to be commended for the hard work they put into collecting funds for charities and for improvements in the place they live, so the Harlequin Rock Choir is very happy to perform to help them raise funds.
It has been a busy year for the Harlequin Rock Choir so far and we have all enjoyed it. We enjoy performing of course and most of all we enjoy singing. It makes us feel so good.
If you would like to feel good too and would like to join us or if you would like us to help you raise funds for a charity then please contact me.
