Since the last very successful performance at Mariano’s on Camposol in December, we have not been idle. Led by our dedicated Musical Directors Andy and Ann, we have been busy practicing new songs to add to our repertoire, making it even more exciting than it was before.
We’ve had new members join us too, all who have realised how enjoyable it is to sing, especially in a choir and one as friendly as the Harlequin Rock Choir. The camaraderie is very evident every time we’re together and although we work hard at every practice, we have fun! This was especially so when our MDs announced that a compulsory song in our repertoire was going to be ‘The Okey Cokey’! We were all rather dumbfounded as we usually vote on songs, until we realised it was April 1st! We sang and did the moves anyway, just for fun!
By the time you read this we hope that some of you will have seen our ‘flash’ performance on Camposol B Commercial Centre. We have performed on Camposol many times but a new venture for us this season is to perform at venues where we haven’t before and where we are sure more Spanish people will have the opportunity to see us.
The first is outside the Bar Peyma near the Tourist Office in Puerto de Mazarrón at 12.30pm on Saturday 20th May. They often have live music Saturday lunchtimes when it is very busy, so we’re hoping to delight the customers as they eat their tapas.
On Saturday 3rd June we will be at Calle Delicias in Mazarron Town’s Post Office Square, entertaining the diners from 9pm.
We are also looking forward to performing at the Open Door Christian Centre in Al Kasar, Condado de Alhama on Friday 26th May at 9pm. We have sung at Condado before, but this is the first time at the Open Door Christian Centre.
We hope to see you at some, if not all, our performances which are all in aid of charities.
