You would think that in Spain you wouldn’t need to worry about the weather when organising an outside event at the end of April.

This was not the case on 28th April when we were due to do a ‘flash’ performance on Camposol B Commercial Centre. Regardless of how many weather forecasts we looked at, they were all showing rain! In the end we postponed our ‘flash’ to 12th May, which was just as well because it did rain on the 28th April.

Harlequin Choir

Not only was the weather kind to us on when we sang, but so was our audience. We were delighted at the generosity of those who came to watch our two half hour performances. We collected nearly €500 for our chosen charity, Forget Me Not. Another donation given to us the next day by three visitors at our Saturday rehearsal session increased the amount to over €500!

As I write this, we are preparing for our first ever performance in Puerto de Mazarrón at the Peyma Restaurant. The charity of our choice on this occasion is Help the Poor, a charity always in need of funds. We will then be at the Open Door Christian Centre in Condado de Alhama where we will be singing in aid of Swap Tears for Smiles.

Hopefully you are reading this at the beginning of June and if so you will have time to book a table for a meal or just come and watch us perform at the Café Calle Delicias in Mazarrón Town on 3rd June at 9pm; another new venue for us and we will be collecting some more funds for Help the Poor.

Are you holding an event for charity and would like us to perform? Contact me on details below. Please be aware that we would need a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks’ notice to make sure we are well-prepared for a performance.
