What a busy month October was for the Harlequin Rock Choir. We appeared at three events; all for charity of course, which resulted in the choir helping to raise much needed funds and food.

harlequin image1On October 8th we ventured out to Isla Plana and sang under the stars with the sea breeze caressing our faces. This performance was to help raise funds for the Perrera Dogs charity; one we have not been involved in before. We were part of the entertainment, along with Barrington, at a fantastic party where we made new fans. The total funds raised was 1329€

A few days later, on 13th October we were overjoyed to repeat the success of last year’s event in aid of the Help the Poor charity with the help of John and Joy Sloman. People’s generosity amazed us as we collected 610€ and approximately 1,800€ worth of food.

Just over a week later, on 21st October, we set out on another first. Twice a year the Camposol Golf Association hold a quiz for charity. This time they thought it would make a pleasant change to combine the quiz with a performance from the choir. We were very happy to help them raise funds for MABS and FAST, totalling over 500€. Some of the choir members even took part in the quiz. It was very satisfying to find out that those in the audience that evening who hadn’t seen us before looked forward to seeing us again.

All in all, in just one month we helped raise a total of over 2,400€ as well as some much needed food for the poor.

With no performances in November, we are using the month to prepare for our next performance on the 8th December at Mariano’s, Camposol A at 7.30pm, hosted by the Lions Club Mazarrón Bahia. Entry is free with donations of non-perishable food which the Cruz Roja will distribute to the needy. Come along and end the year with a joyful serving from the choir that rocks!
