They have also agreed a grant to improve the connections between Mula, Alhama de Mazarrón, Totana and Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón along the MUR-082. There have been calls to improve the roads to Cartagena as this is where the main hospitals in the area are and also the University of Cartagena.

Playa de Las Moreras becomes the first canine beach in Spain to acquire the Q quality flag for tourism. Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez said “This is an award that certifies the good work that the City Council has been doing to give the best possible service to residents and tourists, also to those who wish to enjoy their leisure time accompanied by their pets.”

A flag with the Q of Quality ensures the daily cleaning of the sand, information on the state of the sea, qualified lifeguards, signaling of risk areas or limited swim, etc. In short, the Q flag means that the municipality that manages the beach is fully committed to environmental preservation and is responsible for everything is done in the best possible way respecting dunes, fauna and flora. Likewise, food safety is carefully monitored in the bars of municipal management.

Life-Saving surveillance will continue on Mazarrón beaches until 15th September from 11.30am-7.30pm.
