Friday 19th & Saturday 20th October – International Symposium on the porticos of the Roman Theatre in the auditorium.
The aim of this symposium is to focus attention on a less studied space of Roman theatres such as the Porticus Post Scaenam. The presentations of the Symposium are intended to cover the various regions of the Empire, so that the main Roman theatres of Gaul and the Roman cities of North Africa will be analyzed, as well as the Italian theatres of Ostia, Volterra and Rome and the porticos of the Spanish theatres of Cartago Nova, Augusta Emerita, Itálica and Guadix.

X Anniversary of the Museum of the Roman Theatre Exhibition with photographs of the discovery of the Roman Theatre which was one of the most depressed areas of the Cartagena, almost thirty years ago.

Exhibition ‘Disforme’, by the artist Daniel Soledispa Villamar (until 22nd October)
The artist looks for a different way of representing the city, by deconstructing emblematic buildings such as: the Grand Hotel, the Maestre House, the Town Hall and the Railway Station. He distorts them without deforming them in their entirety.

III Photography Competition ‘Antonio Acosta Hernández’ (until 22nd October)
The competition will be focused on the archaeological heritage of all Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia with the aim of disseminating its historical, cultural and aesthetic values.
All photos must be unpublished and original in colour or black & white and should be presented to the headquarters of the Municipal Archaeological Museum ‘Enrique Escudero de Castro’.
1s – 500€ and a trophy sculptured by Fernando Saenz de Elorrieta

The award ceremony will be held on 16th November at the Municipal Archaeological Museum.
2018 Carnival Poster Contest – deadline 1.30pm 30th October
Each participant may present up to three works of technique and free theme, which must have the carnival spirit as well as some element of the City of Cartagena. 1,000€ will be awarded for the winning poster. The works will be presented at the headquarters of the Federation (Graduate Schools, C / Gisbert nº 4 – 1ª Planta 30202 Cartagena)
