Bi-Lingual Evangelical Church in Fuente Alamo.
I imagine that if you’ve started to read this article, then there is a fair chance that you are already a Christian, but I like to think that there are some out there reading this who are not yet Christians; maybe those who have a spark of interest in finding out more of what it’s all about, or maybe, like me, you just read the Costa Cálida Chronicle from cover to cover each month regardless of what the article is.
If we can reach just one person who is not yet a Christian and encourage them to step out, maybe encourage them to give church a try, help them to find a meaningful, loving relationship with their Heavenly Father, then all our efforts will have been worthwhile.
So, how can you become a Christian?
You do not become a Christian just by reading the Bible, praying or going to church. These things may help your understanding, but just doing them on their own is not enough.
You may have been baptised as a child, got married in church or even intend to have a church service for your funeral.
Millions of atheists and superficial ‘religious’ people have done all that. It certainly doesn’t make them Christians.
Even being a sincere, honest, good living, generous, caring person isn’t enough. There are many people who meet all those criteria who are not Christians.
When I was at school we were taught that we were being brought up in a Christian country. Where you live doesn’t make you a Christian.
So what does make you a Christian?
What makes you a Christian is having a personal, loving relationship with a Heavenly Father who loves you. It’s about accepting Him into your life, seeking the forgiveness that He so freely gives and submerging yourself in the peace, joy and strength He offers as He becomes a bigger and bigger part of your daily life.
Are you prepared to change and accept Jesus into your life?
Does the thought of change scare you?
A bulb must be changed to become a daffodil.
A caterpillar must change to become a butterfly.
Trust in God and allow Him to change you into the person He wants you to be.
Join us on Sunday morning and spend time with a great bunch of people who know and love the Lord. You’ll have a great time and be made most welcome.
