Two Heads Are Better Than One!
As any working parent will tell you, throughout the course of the week you find yourself wearing several ‘hats’ just in order to get everything done; cook, taxi driver, laundry person and cleaner to name just the basic few!
Being self employed here in Spain is no different and I now find myself wearing several different, but very complementary work ‘hats’ as well; that of Tourist Board License registration, translator, project manager and real estate person!
On 2nd May I was at the Region of Murcia Tourist Board presentation discovering how the latest technology and apps will be used to promote both the Murcia region AND rental homes in this region via several new and exciting channels. Needless to say, I was the only ‘extranjero’ there, but the event was well attended by Spanish businesses, owners of Holiday Homes, Casas Rurales and even the Lady Mayor popped in to say hello!
I will be sharing the details and benefits of this new programme with you over the next couple of months, but the important thing to note is that the apps, platforms and technology are FREE to use for ALL LEGALLY REGISTERED HOLIDAY HOMES in Murcia. This is of great benefit for owners who are doing things legally and homes with the Vivienda Vacacional registration number will have yet more advantages over illegal, unregistered rentals.
How does all this link into together?
Many people are looking to buy here in Spain as an investment and as such look to rent out their new home in the sun to generate rental income and offset some of the costs. So far so good!
With 12 year’s past experience running my own property rentals agency here in the area, I can offer the best, most accurate advice re rental returns, best areas to buy and which type of properties will generate the owners the best incomes, plus advise on realistic, achievable rental rates & occupancy BEFORE you buy.
Obviously after your purchase, I can offer all the support you need to get your Tourist License, to make sure everything is done legally and correctly, including helping non-Spanish speaking owners take advantage of these new apps and tools to market their homes. It really is a case of my 2 business ‘heads’ being better than one!
If you are looking for some advice before you take the plunge and buy in Spain, or just want to get your Holiday Home registered before the summer check-up campaign takes place, please do get in touch for advice. You can always pop into my home office in Isla Plana to see me for a chat, but please contact me first to confirm an appointment, as I often am out and about with clients.
Enough about that! I am off to change into my taxi driver hat. I swear my sons think I work for Über!!
