PALS are moving their monthly meetings to Rumours on Camposol sector B in an effort to encourage more of the public to participate in the planning of our activities and events. From September the general meeting will be at 11am on the second Monday of each month and from October the events committee will convene at 11.30 on the first Wednesday of each month. Please come along and meet the gang and put your time and expertise to work in the areas Oldest Premier Humanities Charity. All our money goes to Life Saving and Protection. We are not an animal charity.
Forthcoming events for PALS are Rock and Roll around the Pool with the GeckoBros and with a session from Phil Brady just 12€ to include a light meal 16th September. We also have the BBQ on the Beach 12th October masses of food and drink at Bolnuevo. Tickets going fast at just 13€, children welcome. 31st October has a Halloween Dance at Siena Restaurant 20€ and tickets for our Christmas Ball on 7th December selling quickly 27.50€, a chance to really dress up and bop the night away this has a 9 course meal with drinks and live entertainment -always a must for those seeking value for money and a great night out.
The Programme for 2009 is under final consideration but please take notice that PALS have organised a trip to Jerez from the 18th May staying in the beautiful Puerto Santa Maria. The tickets are 305€ each but PALS will take the payment over 5 months to help lessen the burden in these difficult times Phone Sheila on 968 138823 for further information on this trip or indeed on any other matter relating to events. Each Saturday Gina and Brian are outside The Steak Out (El Tardio) from late morning till 1.30 to offer all our tickets or you can approach any PALS members for info.
PALS receive assistance from regular supporters and may we take this opportunity to thank The Costa Cálida Chronicle for their long-term help. Luz del Sol have provided all of this year's ticket printing and have offered to continue into 2009. Sam Sims provides the art work for our posters. Sue at the Print Shop has been most helpful and Globos Balloons and Cactus are stalwart supporters and of course all of you who enjoy what we do. If you haven't been to a PALS event make a note to do so soon we would love to see you.
CAFÉ News.
The fund has swollen to 15,274€ thanks to a presentation from Rumours, whose staff put on a most entertaining show recently. This brings their contribution this year to an impressive 3,878€. Thanks to everybody involved for a great effort.
On 4th October Costa Cálida International Radio have sponsored and organised CAFÉ CONCERT TWO at the Playa Grande starting at 3pm till midnight with 9 of the areas leading musical acts providing what is The Event of the Year. Tickets at just 5€ each from various outlets, or PALS, Lions or the Radio station. Last year 500 people attended and we anticipate a similar number this year, so get your tickets soon. The event last year raised over 5,000€ towards CAFÉ. Big raffle, tombola and auction so dig deep folks; this is for you. Great excitement from the artistes and all concerned.
