PALS

A recent presentation of the history and aims of PALS to The Ladies Circle in Mazarrón produced a donation of 105?, and at this meeting it was explained that in competition with the other charities in the area PALS were attempting to provide value for money at their events and outings. Fuel costs are increasing and therefore the Coach companies are passing that on to us as users which eats into our slim events margins. Our recent outings to Calasparra/Caravaca , Benidorm Palace and Benidorm have all been successful and indeed we are being pushed by our supporters for more.

April has a Beetle Drive on the 6th and St George's Dinner and Dance with Salty Dog at Mariano's.In the month of May we have a BBQ on the Beach both at the beginning and end of the month and the tickets for the Summer Ball with The GeckoBros providing the entertainment at Costa Costa on the 8th June are being snapped up.We also have our Annual Boules Competition on the 8th May and a Treasure Hunt on the 11th. Information and tickets from Sheila 968 138823.

We have agreed to donate the value of 700 bottles to the DATA LINK project and continue to press the Town Hall for the release of the 9 defibrillatorsinto the public domain. PALS do it 4U. We are the area's largest and original registered expatriate charity and our purpose is to raise money for medical equipment to augment the emergency services in the Mazarrón area. Our charity is Humanities based.

Our existing committee was re-elected at the AGM, but new members are urgently required to 'bring new blood' into our planning stages and indeed to help out at the events. We acknowledge those who support us and our sponsors, but would appreciate a business funding our ink requirements!. At the AGM the members acknowledged that it is you the general public that allowed us to have our most successful financial year and to date PALS have raised over 150000? towards Hospital and Ambulance services. Thank you everybody, please continue to support us.

CAFÉ
The Community Ambulance Fund España have great pleasure in announcing that Costa Cálida International Radio are hosting CAFÉ CONCERT TWO at the Playa Grande Hotel on October 4th. This will be even bigger than last year's event and already the Artistes are clamouring to perform. Prizes for the Auction and Raffle are required and we hope to beat last years figure of 5500?. The concept of CAFÉ is that individuals, businesses and organisations self-start an event and the proceeds go to the fund. Kevin's Fly Screens are making monthy donations and The Steak Out are holding a D-Day evening on 4th June. Donations Tins can be found throughout the area and we urgently need to raise money to purchase a rapid response ambulance. Got any ideas? - talk to any PALS or International Lions member for information. The two organisations hold a bank account in the name of CAFÉ at CAM bank.
