The Department of Social Policy continues with its commitment to optimize the lives of Mazarrón families, in this case, improving the education of minors, through training, leisure and free time activities. For this, a new project called ‘In the afternoon we have plans’ has been organized. An initiative aimed at school children between 3 and 12 years old who can take advantage of this programme of extracurricular activities that are offered free of charge for non-school periods.

Extracurricular activities will start be held from March 16 until May 29 from Monday to Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and from June 1 to 23rd from Monday to Friday between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the schools of ‘ La Aceña ‘in Mazarrón,’ Miguel Delibes’ in Puerto de Mazarrón and the ‘San Antonio’ ​​school in Cañada de Gallego.

To register, interested families can collect the registration forms from the secretary of the schools of the municipality and deliver it, duly completed, to the secretary of any of the 3 centres mentioned in which the activity will be carried out, before Friday the 13th of March, inclusive. Places are limited, because the groups will be a maximum of 20 children. Access is through rental criteria, and a waiting list will be created if the maximum number of places is exceeded.

This initiative is part of the broad programme plan being carried out by the Social Policy area to improve the reconciliation of family and work life, as well as to promote family mediation and improve the formation of families. This last project, again has the funding of the Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Equality and the counselling of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy of the CARM.
