From February 16 to March 10, Mazarrón will enjoy their carnival with the estimated participation of more than 2,000 people who will parade through its streets in the three parades included in the programme presented by the Councilman of Celebrations, Patricio Sánchez.

Patricio Sánchez encourages the Mazarron residents and visitors to go out to the street these days and enjoy this spectacular Carnival. He also thanked the work that for many months has been carried out by the different clubs of the Mazarron carnival.

Sánchez highlighted some of the novelties for this year such as the change to Saturday for the day of election of the Musa Gala, which will take place on February 23 at 9:30 p.m. in La Aceña Pavilion. Also, for the first time, on Sunday, February 24, there will be a day of coexistence between clubs in the marquee which will be installed on the Avenida de la Constitución.

Natalia García Paredes from ‘Mármara’ and Juan Carlos López Moreno from ‘Los Salaitos’ will be the “musos” in this parade.

On Saturday, March 2, the children’s parade will take place at 5pm, with the general parade taking place on Sunday, March 3, also at 5pm.

On Sunday 10th the programme will close with the parade of visiting clubs and winning local clubs at 5pm.

After each of the parades, the award ceremony will take place in the Marquee, after the corresponding evaluation by the jury and will be approximately 45 minutes after the completion of each parade.

The amount of the prizes amounts to a total of 8,150€. There will be three prizes for dance schools and another three for schools in the children’s parade. The local clubs will receive 4,500€ in prizes, with the first five prizes receiving award. The three best visiting groups will also be awarded, sharing among them the amount of 600€.
